Alongside its newly rebranded, $299 smart glasses collection, Meta has launched a dedicated $59 desktop Charging Stand.
The sleek accessory is designed to give your AI glasses a permanent, hands-free charging dock on a desk or nightstand, offering a stationary alternative to the folding leather charging cases that come included in the box.
1. Key Performance & Charging Speeds
The stand acts as a fast-charging hub when connected to a standard power source:
- 0 to 50%: Takes roughly 20 minutes for a quick top-up.
- 0 to 100%: Achieves a full charge in just over an hour.
- Visual Status LED: A built-in indicator light at the top of the stand glows orange while actively charging and flips to solid green once the battery hits 100%. A charging status bolt also populates inside the Meta AI companion app.
2. Materials and Aesthetics
Reflecting a distinct premium shift, Meta moved away from basic plastics for this peripheral:
- The Shell: Crafted from weighted stainless steel metal.
- Color Profile: Available in a dual Natural Titanium and Black finish.
- Stability Base: Features a dedicated silicone rubber footpad on the bottom to prevent the dock from sliding around or tipping over when picking up the glasses with one hand.
3. Strict Compatibility Breakdown
Because smart glasses utilize highly specific magnetic bridge pins to pass current, the stand is engineered to fit a specific array of shapes. Meta recommends docking the glasses with the temple arms fully closed for the best connection.
