0

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services firm, has announced a strategic restructuring of its AI.Cloud business unit into two dedicated verticals: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud. This move aims to sharpen focus and accelerate growth in each domain, aligning operations to meet expanding market opportunities in AI and cloud technologies.

🔍 Strategic Restructuring: AI and Cloud as Separate Verticals

Formed two years ago, TCS’s AI.Cloud unit has been growing faster than the company’s average performance. Recognizing the immense growth potential and largely untapped markets in both AI and Cloud, TCS decided to split the unit to better align its operations and accelerate expansion in each sector.

👥 Leadership Appointments

To lead these newly formed units, TCS has appointed experienced leaders:

  • Siva Ganesan: Now heads the AI and Data unit, serving as the core of TCS’s AI-related strategy.
  • Krishna Mohan: Previously deputy head of AI.Cloud, now leads the Cloud business.
  • Ashok Krish: Appointed as the Global Head of AI.
  • Satish Byravan: Takes over as the Global Head of Data.

🎯 Focus on AI and Data Integration

TCS has bundled data into the AI vertical, acknowledging that effective AI depends heavily on robust data infrastructure. This integrated approach allows TCS to provide full-stack solutions that combine data modernization with AI adoption, catering to clients whose data landscapes may not yet be ready for AI implementation. 🧠 Talent Acquisition and Training

To support this expansion, TCS is actively hiring specialist AI talent from the market and focusing on training existing employees by revamping the training curriculum. This two-pronged strategy aims to build a robust talent pipeline equipped to deliver next-generation AI and cloud services. Outlook Business

🌐 Market Implications

The restructuring reflects TCS’s intensified focus on AI amid rising demand in both AI and cloud services. By creating specialized verticals, TCS aims to sharpen its focus and accelerate growth in each domain, better aligning its operations to meet the expanding market opportunities in AI and cloud technologies.
