Sarvam announce ‘Sarvam Kaze’ AI glasses

0

In a landmark moment for Indian hardware, Sarvam AI unveiled its first wearable device, Sarvam Kaze, on February 16, 2026. The AI-powered smart-glasses were officially launched at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first person to publicly test the device.

Co-founder Pratyush Kumar described the launch as a move to bring intelligence “from the screen to the real world,” positioning the Kaze as a “Made in India” rival to global products like the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

The “See, Listen, Respond” Workflow

Sarvam Kaze is designed to act as a seamless, hands-free assistant that interacts with the user’s physical environment in real-time.

  • Multimodal Intelligence: The glasses use an integrated camera and microphone to “see” and “listen” to the world. They can identify objects, read text from signs or documents, and provide voice-based information about the user’s surroundings.
  • Real-Time Response: During the launch walkthrough, PM Modi tested the device’s ability to provide instant feedback as he navigated the expo floor.
  • Sarvam Platform Integration: Developers can build “custom experiences” for the glasses using the Sarvam platform, allowing for specialized apps in sectors like education, tourism, and accessibility.
  • Privacy-First Design: Leveraging the Sarvam Edge model (launched last week), the glasses are designed to perform significant processing on-device or within a “Trusted Tech” perimeter to ensure data privacy.

Strategic Impact: The IndiaAI Vision

The development of Sarvam Kaze aligns with the IndiaAI Mission, a ₹10,372 crore government initiative to democratize technology. By building both the silicon/software layer and the physical wearable, Sarvam AI is attempting to capture the full value chain of “Sovereign AI.”

“Sarvam Kaze moves intelligence from the screen to the real world. You wear it. It listens, understands, responds, and captures what you see… This is a whole new world to build for.” — Pratyush Kumar, Co-Founder, Sarvam AI.
