India’s First Private Helicopter Assembly Line to Be Established in Karnataka

India is set to bolster its aerospace manufacturing capabilities with the establishment of its first privately-led helicopter assembly line in Kolar, Karnataka. This private initiative complements the state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) helicopter factory in Tumakuru, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2023. The HAL facility, spread over 615 acres, is India’s largest helicopter manufacturing unit and focuses on producing Light Utility Helicopters (LUHs).
