India emerges as a key investor in Africa
India has now become one of the top five investors in Africa, with cumulative investments exceeding $75 billion between 1996 and 2024
Strategic support beyond trade
Along with rising trade and investments, India has extended concessional loans worth over $12 billion and grant assistance of $700 million across various development projects in Africa. The country has also offered 50,000 scholarships for African youth, of which more than 42,000 have already been utilized
Co-creating a shared future with Africa
The minister emphasized that this year’s theme—“Co-creating a Shared Future”—marks a shift toward deeper partnerships beyond traditional project collaborations. India reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Africa at the global stage, recalling disaster relief efforts in nations like Mozambique, Madagascar, and Mauritius, and inviting African countries to join global clean energy and infrastructure alliances
