Apple Launches CarPlay Ultra with Aston Martin: A New Era of In-Car Experience

Apple has officially launched its next-generation in-car infotainment system, CarPlay Ultra, debuting with luxury automaker Aston Martin. This advanced system extends beyond the traditional center console, integrating seamlessly across all driver-facing screens, including the instrument cluster. CarPlay Ultra offers a customizable interface that blends vehicle data with Apple-powered widgets, allowing drivers to manage features such as navigation, media, climate control, and performance settings through touchscreen, physical buttons, or Siri voice commands.

Initially available in the U.S. and Canada, CarPlay Ultra is featured in Aston Martin’s DBX SUV, Vantage, DB12, and Vanquish models, with pricing starting around $194,000. Existing Aston Martin owners with the latest infotainment system from 2023 can upgrade starting in June, provided they have an iPhone 12 or later running iOS 18.5 or newer. Business Insider

Apple first announced the second generation of CarPlay in 2022, but only recently confirmed its release. Broader adoption across automakers, including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis, is expected in the future.
