In a bold move to challenge Nvidia’s dominance in the subcontinent, AMD and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a major expansion of their strategic partnership on February 16, 2026. The collaboration centers on bringing AMD’s “Helios” rack-scale AI architecture to India, specifically designed to power “sovereign AI factories” and large-scale enterprise deployments.
The announcement was made during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, where AMD CEO Lisa Su emphasized that the industry is shifting from AI pilots to massive production-scale infrastructure.
The “Helios” Architecture: A Technical Breakdown
The Helios platform is an integrated, open, rack-scale system that combines AMD’s latest silicon with high-speed networking and open-source software.

- Sovereign AI Factories: The infrastructure is purpose-built to help the Indian government and local enterprises build and train AI models within domestic borders, reducing reliance on foreign cloud providers.
- End-to-End Integration: While AMD provides the silicon and architecture, TCS will lead the system integration, sustainable power engineering, and management services to help firms move AI into production faster.

This partnership follows a preliminary agreement in January 2026 and marks a significant escalation in the battle for India’s AI infrastructure market.
