Nvidia to surpass $1 trillion revenue by 2027, says CEO

At Nvidia’s annual GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2026, CEO Jensen Huang stunned the industry on March 16, 2026, by projecting that the company’s cumulative revenue opportunity could reach $1 trillion through 2027. This bold forecast is a 200% increase from the $500 billion target set just a year ago, fueled by an insatiable demand for AI infrastructure and a shift toward “agentic AI.”

The New Compute Paradigm: Vera Rubin and Beyond

The centerpiece of this trillion-dollar outlook is the transition from the Blackwell architecture to the next-generation Vera Rubin platform.

  • Vera Rubin Space One: Nvidia unveiled its first space-based data center system, developed with partners for satellite deployment later this year.
  • Kyber Architecture: Huang teased “Kyber,” the successor to Rubin, designed as a rack-scale architecture to power massive industrial robotics and “physical AI” factories.
  • Inference Over Training: Huang declared that the “inference inflection has arrived.” As AI models move from being trained to being used by hundreds of millions of people, the demand for chips that run AI (inference) is outstripping those used to build it (training).

Agentic AI: The $1 Trillion Catalyst

Huang argued that the rise of AI agents—autonomous systems capable of reasoning and executing tasks—is the primary driver for this revenue surge.

  • AgaaS (Agentic as a Service): Nvidia predicts every software company will transform into an agent-hosting platform.
  • Claude Code Impact: Huang cited Anthropic’s Claude Code as a revolutionary moment, noting that every Nvidia engineer is now assisted by multiple AI agents.
  • Acquisition Synergy: The $17 billion acquisition of Groq in late 2025 has been integrated into Nvidia’s new Language Processing Units (LPUs), specifically designed to make agentic AI responses near-instantaneous.

Financial Trajectory & Analyst Skepticism

While Huang’s vision is grand, Wall Street remains divided on the timeline.

MetricCurrent Status (FY26)2027 Projection
Market Cap~$5 Trillion (First to hit this)High Upside Targets: $280/share
Data Center Revenue~$180 Billion~$450 Billion
Cumulative Revenue~$320 Billion$1 Trillion (Target)

Some analysts, including those from JPMorgan, see “significant line-of-sight” into this demand but warn that the market may be weary of “hyper-optimistic” forecasts. Following the keynote, Nvidia’s stock saw some sideways movement as investors weighed the $1 trillion target against potential risks of a “Capex cliff” or slowing hyperscaler spend.

“Physical AI” and Robotics

The keynote concluded with a demonstration of Dynamo 1.0, a new platform for humanoid robotics. Huang asserted that “Physical AI has arrived,” predicting that every industrial company will eventually become a robotics company, further cementing Nvidia’s role as the foundation for the next generation of factories, logistics, and transportation.
