The update allows creators to automatically translate and dub their Reels in another language, while keeping their original voice tone, pitch, and style. How it works

Creators making Reels can now select “Translate your voice with Meta AI” during upload. The AI instantly generates a translated voice track that mimics the creator’s real voice. An optional lip-sync feature also aligns the dubbed audio with mouth movements for a natural look.

If a creator is not satisfied with the translation, they can reject it, and the original Reel remains unchanged.

Supported languages

At launch, Meta AI voice translation supports English and Spanish, two of the most widely used languages on Meta’s platforms. The company confirmed that more languages will be added soon, making this tool even more valuable for global communities.

  • Facebook creators with 1,000 or more followers
  • All public Instagram accounts in regions where Meta AI is active

The feature is available globally, except in certain restricted markets.

When viewers watch a Reel, they will automatically hear the translated version if it matches their language preferences. Translated Reels are marked with a label showing that AI translation was used. Users can also disable this option in their settings.

  • Upload up to 20 translated audio tracks manually
  • Access new Insights metrics segmented by language, helping them measure engagement from different global audiences
